Your King is Coming!

This Advent Season…

Please join us this Advent season as we celebrate Jesus’ coming into our world with the theme: “Your King is Coming!” Advent marks the beginning of a new Church Year. The term “advent” is derived from a Latin word that means “coming”. This Advent season we celebrate a new opportunity to welcome Jesus into our hearts and lives!

Good Shepherd will host Midweek Advent Worship Service for the first three Wednesdays in December at 7:00 PM. Our Midweek Advent theme is “God With Us!” Each Wednesday we will join together as the family of God as we celebrate the coming of his Son for our salvation. We will reflect on how Jesus Christ is coming to be present with us in our lives today!  Each week we will focus on the coming Christ found in the prophetic words of Isaiah. Services will reveal how Christ continues to be present with us even now. The theme verse for our Advent series is: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us)” (Matthew 1:23).  Every Wednesday in Advent there will be a mealtime from 5:30 PM – 6:45 PM in the Gathering Room.  Family activities will be held to help prepare families for the coming of Jesus.

God’s word leads us to understand that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords came into our world in a simple way. He began His reign in a manger and his throne was a cross. We hear the voice of John the Baptist saying, “Prepare the Way!” We will see how God used His prophet to proclaim repentance for the forgiveness of sins.  This Advent Season points us to the truth that our Savior Jesus was born to die for our sins in order to bring us life!

Advent Blessings!
