Welcome to Good Shepherd Church
Live sermons on YouTube & Facebook
Dear Good Shepherd Family,
We certainly live in challenging times don’t we? The Coronavirus is impacting nations, we have a volatile stock market, but in all of this that we face, we know that one thing is certain, The love of Jesus for you will never change.
After listening to the messages of the CDC, discussing with church leadership as well as area churches, we have decided to suspend onsite worship at Good Shepherd Elgin through April 1. Over the next few weeks we will be providing live worship services on Facebook and recorded services and sermons on our Good Shepherd website.
Please understand that this decision was made with a lot of prayer. It is our hope that through our actions we can show love to our neighbor and help to prevent any inadvertent transfer of virus to those who are at most at compromised health risk.
It is our plan at Good Shepherd that in addition to online worship, that Good Shepherd will also provide devotional and bible study resources to you and your family while you are at home. This is a new opportunity for you and I to be the church where God has called us. To be the light of Christ at home and in our community.
If you know of people without email, please contact them and share this information with them. This is an opportunity for us to reach and show care and concern for our neighbor.
Again, due to the coronavirus we will NOT have Wednesday Lenten Services or Weekend worship services in our building this weekend at Good Shepherd through April 1. All other activities including Lenten Meals, Sunday School, AWANA, iREACH, Early Communion and Bible Studies have also been suspended.
Thank you for your faithful support of our ministry. Even in these uncertain times, the Lord Jesus Reigns!
Trusting in Jesus,
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” (PS 46:1, 10-11)
Good Shepherd is a family of believers with faith and hope in the one true Savior, Jesus Christ. At Good Shepherd we exist to extend Jesus’ love in our homes and in our community: through our Christ-centered school, in our growing Hispanic outreach ministry, in our dynamic worship and music programs to name a few! Our mission is to love people into a living relationship with Jesus!
We pray that you will see people alive in Christ as we worship, learn, care, and serve one another as well as reaching out to those who live around us. Our desire at Good Shepherd is not to just "go" to church but to "be" the Church of Jesus Christ! To be His body in this world, loving others into a living relationship with Him.
Whether you are looking for a weekend service to attend while visiting the area or if you are searching for a new church home or school for you or your children we are here for you. Please consider becoming a partner in ministry with us.
Please feel free to contact one of the church pastors with any questions or for further details regarding our ministries and teachings. You are welcome to join us in worship.
