Sharing Love

Have you ever heard of Albert McMakin? Chances are that you have never heard of him. The year was 1934 and Albert was a young farmhand from North Carolina who had recently come to faith in Jesus Christ. Albert was excited to share his faith, so he invited a friend named Billy Frank to an old fashioned revival. Billy didn’t really want to go, but Albert offered to let Billy drive the truck. Since Billy didn't have a vehicle of his own and he desperately wanted to drive, he agreed to Albert's proposition.

Billy stayed outside in the truck during the tent meeting, but he listened to the preacher’s words. By the end of the revival, Jesus had his hooks into Billy. Before the evening was through the Holy Spirit had worked on young Billy Graham’s heart, and like Paul Harvey used to say, “And now you know the rest of the story!”

God used Billy Graham to impact the world for eternity, but if it were not for the faithful courage of a simple farmhand named Albert McMakin, MILLIONS may never had heard THE STORY of Christ. You may not be famous either, but like Albert McMakin, you know the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ! Do you know someone who has not yet experienced the love of Jesus? We cannot all be like Billy Graham, but we can all be like Albert McMakin – we can all share Jesus love with others!

We don’t really need to know anything more about sharing the love of Jesus other than His words, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” We know that we all need the love of Jesus.  We also know that Jesus calls each of us to share His love.  Pastor Greg Finke writes, “It’s not what you know, but what you DO with what you know that makes a difference in people’s lives.”  May God give you the faithful courage to share Jesus’ love. As the Holy Spirit guides you to follow the Good Shepherd Jesus, He will use you to change the world…one person at a time!

Loving People to Jesus!
