A Season of Hope!

A Season of Hope!
A season of Hope!

More than any other time of the year, the Advent/Christmas Season is a time filled with hope! Everyone seems to experience a renewed feeling of expectation that good things are going to happen. As Christians, our hope comes from Jesus as we look ahead to the coming of Christ into our lives. We recall God’s covenant promise that was fulfilled in the birth of His Son, Jesus. We also look ahead with hope to Jesus’ coming at the end of time. But we also live with the hope that Jesus will come and rule in our hearts today!

Advent and Christmas are all about God coming to live with us.  Eugene Peterson translates John 1:14 in this way, “The Word (Jesus) became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.”  What an awesome thing!  Have you ever thought of Jesus that way? Not just that Jesus came to be born 2000 years ago in Bethlehem, but that Jesus is STILL actively living in your neighborhood today!

Jesus said, “I will be with you ALWAYS!”  That means right here, right now!  It means that wherever you are and whatever struggle it is that you are going through, Jesus is there to guide, encourage and even forgive you. One of Jesus’ names is Immanuel, “God with us.” Our Father God sent His Son to be with us. Wow!  Never forget that you have a God who will never leave you or forsake you!  Jesus loves you dearly!  This Advent season, tap into the power of Jesus' Love!

Living in the hope of Jesus!
