Easter 2022

Easter 2022

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, joy and peace to you all!

We’ve been through a rough journey over the last few years. For Good Shepherd congregation our Easter 2020 was “online.” For Easter 2021 we ALL wore face coverings and practiced “social distancing.” This year we are taking steps to get things a little more back to normal with masks being optional for Easter worship. And during the entire journey, Jesus our Good Shepherd has been leading us!

This year we shout “ALLELUIA!” as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the new life that He brings!  This year, let’s be filled with JOY as we have been called into the light of Christ! By God’s grace we have been filled with the light and love of Jesus that brings hope and salvation! Jesus’ victory over sin and death gives you victory in your life today! We place our hope in the power of Jesus Christ!

This Easter, April 17, I welcome you back home to worship at Good Shepherd at 195 Nesler Road! I encourage you to join with your Good Shepherd family for our Holy Week celebration that begins with our Palm Sunday weekend worship services on April 9 & 10. Our Palm Sunday Cantata entitled “No Greater Love” will be offered at the Saturday 5:00 service as well as the Sunday 10:00 service.

You are also welcome to join us for Maundy Thursday worship on April 14 at 7:00 PM as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Good Friday worship service will be April 15 at 7:00 PM. In this service of darkness, we will hear the last words of Jesus on the cross.  Our worship will include a symbolic closing of the tomb.

Easter Services will be held Sunday, April 17 at 8:00 AM (Traditional) and 10:00 AM (Contemporary), where we will celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ as we return to the open tomb and celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death!

We will continue our safe & healthy practices. Face coverings will be optional. We would love to have you JOIN US IN PERSON. If you are unable to join us at 195 Nesler, please know that we can still worship together online on our YouTube channel.

Please join us this Holy Week and during the Easter season as together we celebrate the victory of Jesus Christ!  May your Easter season be a celebration filled with the love of Jesus Christ!

I wish you a HAPPY, Healthy and JOYOUS EASTER!

Christ IS risen!  He IS risen indeed!  Alleluia!
