OK guys, here’s some advice for Valentine’s Day! I learned it from my time in the navy. It’s called “The K.I.S.S. Principle.” The K.I.S.S. stands for “Keep it Simple Sailor!” You can do MANY things for those you love on Valentine’s Day. You can buy flowers or chocolates or you can go out for a fancy dinner. But the BEST thing that you can do is to keep it simple and to tell your special valentine that you love them! The K.I.S.S. principle may be useful in your faith relationship with God as well. If you have been following Jesus all your life, or if you are new in your faith walk, it may be best just to keep things simple. Sometimes our faith life can seem so complicated! It may seem overwhelming at times to understand God and to sort out all the teachings of the Bible! The Bible can seem confusing. The church at times can be even more confusing! Maybe it’s time to “Keep it Simple!”Jesus explained the essence of the Bible in a simple way when he was talking to a man (Nicodemus) who was confused by God. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life!” That’s the Bible in its simplest form! There are MANY translations to this simple verse, but “The Gospel in a Nutshell” boils down to this: God loves you so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to rescue you! If you really want to show your love for someone special this Valentine’s Day, keep it simple. Remind them that Jesus loves them!Loved by Jesus!Pastor Steve Maske
