Have you ever been out driving in your car and...ran out of gas? I have, a number of times! One time I ran out of gas less than a block away from the gas station! I had to walk to the gas station, buy a gas can, walk back to the car and put a gallon of gas and then drive one block to the gas station to fill the car up. How embarrassing! The needle on the gas gauge was WAY below empty. I had passed too many gas stations without filling up. I had pushed my luck too long, and I finally had to pay the price.
Do you ever feel like your “gas tank” of faith is running on empty? You’re at your wit’s end and your faith life is running on fumes….running on empty. If you ever do feel like that, maybe you have passed too many opportunities to “fill-up” your faith. When was the last time you stopped by the “station” and refilled your faith tank with some high octane Gospel fuel from God’s word?
Actually, it’s not really HOW much faith that you have, it’s really about WHO you have faith in! Jesus said, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”(Matthew 17:20)
Our faith is “little” when we place it in little things! If we place our faith in the things of this world, that type of faith will fail. When we place our faith in ourselves, in our abilities, or in even other people, sooner or later our “faith” will run dry!
But if we have faith in Jesus Christ, even with a small faith the size of a mustard seed, “NOTHING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE WITH YOU!” Is your faith running a little low? Be filled with the love of Jesus and you will never run dry!
Loved by Jesus!
