The church's music program offers the opportunity to members of Good Shepherd to use their vocal and instrumental talents as an expression of their faith and openly witness to the Lord through the gift of music. God loves to be praised and honored for all He does for us, why not respond through music and sing the song of the church.
Saturday evening service at 5:00 pm is Blended Worship, a more casual service of prayer and preaching; a blend of new and old favorite songs and hymns plus Biblical, life-related teachings.
Sunday morning at 8:30 am is Classic Traditional Lutheran Worship - Divine Service with Lutheran liturgy, hymns, and Biblical, life-related teaching. The Shepherd's Voice choir provides special music and leads the singing.
The 10:00 am Contemporary Worship is enhanced by the Praise Band. Please consider using your musical talents in voice or instrument to serve the Lord through music ministry. The Praise Band practices on Tuesdays at 7:00 and is always open to new members! Kelsey Tichenor directs the Praise Band. Please fill out the form below to get more information.
Our Preschool students receive music instruction each week during the school year. These, our youngest artists, are pleased to present anthems during regular Sunday worship services. They also prepare special programs for the Christmas season and in the springtime. They love to sing for mom and dad, grandma and grandpa.
Kids' Choir is a children's choir for kids ages 3 and up. Kelsey Tichenor directs the Kids' Choir.
Shepherd's Voice - The adult choir of the church sings regularly, alternating between the 5:00 pm and 8:30 am traditional worship services. We have 16 singers in the choir, and are always welcoming new members and recruits. The choir season starts end of August and finishes in early June. The choir rehearses on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. Shepherd's Voice also does special musical presentations at Christmas, Holy Week and this year we added a Spring Ascension concert. Gary Lichthardt directs the choir.
The Good Shepherd Handbell Choir ~ Six Hearts & Twelve Hands - We are blessed with the joy from the sound of ringing handbells in worship. The church has a three octave set of Schumelrich Handbells and a three octave set of Malmark Handchimes. During the pandemic, due to distancing, we reduced the size of the bell choir. We have an ensemble called Six Hearts - Twelve Hands that rings as well using only 12 bells and piano accompaniment from director Gary Lichthardt. We hope to return to a full-size bell choir in the fall of 2023. Contact Gary Lichthardt at email@example.com.
