Our songs will be joyous and filled with “Hosannas” as we enter Holy Week. The children of Good Shepherd will join in a special Palm Sunday processional during the 10 am service.

Thursday, April 14th at 7:00 pm

Maundy Thursday is the day set aside during Holy Week when we recall the story of Jesus and his disciples in the "upper room". This is where Jesus shared bread and wine with them. Jesus also washed the feet of his disciples in a symbolic sign of love toward them. It would be the last time they would be together before Jesus would be crucified. The Sacrament of the Altar will be celebrated and the service will end in silence with the stripping of the altar and the reflective reading of select Psalms. Shepherd’s Voice and The Bells of Good Shepherd will provide songs that recall Jesus’s night with his disciples in the upper room.

Friday, April 15th at 7:00 pm

The day Jesus Christ was crucified, God proved his love for his people by letting Jesus, his Son be crucified by the sins and wrongdoings of mankind. The darkest day of the church year is Good Friday. Good Shepherd will recognize and mourn the murder of Jesus with a special Tenebrae worship service. Special scripture readings, music and hymns will be the elements of this service of darkness. The Good Friday service engages all who come to worship and honor our Lord for what He has done.

Shepherd's Voice will be singing special music including a new work titled “Behold the Lamb” by John Behnke.  Jennifer Silk and Wendy Cotton will join us to provide special music as Jennifer plays violin and viola, and Wendy on cello. Jennifer, Wendy and Gary will perform "Adagio" by Samuel Barber, a work based on the hymn tune of “O Sacred Head, Now Wounded” which has become a Good Friday tradition.
