Holy Week & Easter Celebrations

We invite people to come and join in any of our Holy Week and Festival Easter worship services. We preach Christ crucified and Risen from the dead. Jesus is our true Lord and Savior!

MAUNDY THURSDAY

Thursday, April 6th at 7:00 pm

Maundy Thursday is the day set aside during Holy Week when we recall the story of Jesus and his disciples in the "upper room". This is where Jesus shared bread and wine with them. Jesus also washed the feet of his disciples in a symbolic sign of love toward them. It would be the last time they would be together before Jesus would be crucified. The Sacrament of the Altar will be celebrated and the service will end in silence with the stripping of the altar and the reflective reading of select Psalms.

GOOD FRIDAY

Friday, April 7th at 7:00 pm

The day Jesus Christ was crucified, God proved his love for his people by letting Jesus, his Son be crucified by the sins and wrongdoings of mankind. The darkest day of the church year is Good Friday. Good Shepherd will recognize and mourn the murder of Jesus with a special Tenebrae worship service. Special scripture readings, music and hymns will be the elements of this service of darkness. The Good Friday service engages all who come to worship and honor our Lord for what He has done.

EASTER SUNDAY

Sunday, April 9th at 8:00 am Festival Easter Worship Service

The resurrection of Jesus will be celebrated with special songs and anthems from Shepherd's Voice Choir, Six Hearts~Twelve Hands Handbell Ensemble, and the Good Shepherd Brass Ensemble. Divine Worship with traditional Easter Hymn songs of strength and faith will be offered.
