FAQ

How old does my child have to be to be in your program?
A child needs to be 2, 3 or 4 years old by September 1st of their entering year to be enrolled in our programs. We follow the public school regulations regarding enrollment.

Does my child have to be completely potty-trained to be in your programs?
Potty training is not required for our Little Lambs (2 yr old program). We will work with parents on this important skill.
Children in our 3 and 4 yr old programs must be potty trained. This means your child must be wearing underwear, not pull-ups, to school, and be able to manage their own clothing in the bathroom. We understand children in preschool may have accidents. This is why we ask families to provide a set of emergency clothes to be kept at school in case the need arises.

Do you have child care available?
Before and after-school care is available for those children enrolled in our programs on the days that they are in school. Our before school care begins at 7:00 am and runs until 8:00 am when children can enter the classrooms. After-care begins at 3:00 pm and runs until 5:30 pm.

What kind of curriculum do you use?
We are a faith-based program. We use our faith to help children make sense of the world in which they live. We have organized units around developmentally appropriate concepts, like “God Created My World” and “I Am Special – God Made Me!” and we integrate our faith into all lessons throughout the day. We use a curriculum designed by Concordia Publishing House for Religion. For letters and sounds, we use Jolly Phonics, which is the curriculum used by our local school districts. All of our lessons are designed to be in line with the state standards for preschool learning.

Is there any time to play outside in your programs?
Yes. All of our programs have time built into them for children to experience outside play unless the weather doesn't permit. We also utilize the large indoor play area at our facility.

How do I make a tuition payment?
All tuition payments are made by direct debit through Vanco. An authorized payment is electronically transferred every month on the 1st or the 15th (or both, if you would like to split your payments) from your savings or checking account to Good Shepherd School. Tuition is divided equally over 10 months, beginning in August and ending in May. This service is provided at no cost to the parents, and forms are available in the school office.

A fee will be assessed in the case of a non-sufficient funds (NSF) payment. Fees will be assessed as follows:
1st time in the current school year - $25
2nd time in the current school year - $50
3rd time in the current school year - $75 etc…..
In the case of a NSF payment, your payment must be made, in cash, on your student's next school day.

All policies are listed in the parent handbook.
